As we step into the New Year, we reflect on the compassion, support, and generosity that made 2025 such an impactful year for the animals in our care. From lifesaving medical treatment to second chances, this year marked meaningful progress for animal welfare in our community.
Between May and December alone, our newly accredited veterinary clinic completed 263 spay and neuter procedures, 319 surgeries, and helped facilitate over 550 adoptions—milestones that speak to both growth and impact.
A message from Executive Director, Shannon LaHay:
“As we come to the close of the year, I want to take a moment to thank you for being such an important part of our community in 2025. This year has been one of meaningful change and exciting growth for our organization.
One of our most significant milestones was the move into our new building — a space that allows us to do so much more for the animals in our care, the people who love them, and the dedicated staff and volunteers who support this work every day. This new home represents possibility, compassion, and a stronger future for animal welfare in our community.
This year was also a personal milestone for me, as I had the privilege of joining HSLM as Executive Director. I have been deeply inspired by the commitment, generosity, and care shown by our donors, staff, volunteers, foster families, and partners. Your belief in this mission makes everything we do possible.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with gratitude and optimism — and with a shared commitment to ensuring that every animal receives the care, respect, and second chance they deserve.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our work, and for being part of this compassionate community. Wishing you a warm and peaceful holiday season and a happy new year.”
With sincere gratitude,
Shannon LaHay
