NO EMPTY BOWLS PET FOOD BANK

NO EMPTY BOWLS PET FOOD BANK

Humane Society London & Middlesex recognizes that pets are members of the family.  And at times, we know that many families experience financial hardships, where a small helping hand can make a huge difference.

We believe that no one should face the difficult decision of having to surrender their pet because they cannot afford the cost of food.

“No Empty Bowls” is a pet food bank program intended for families facing short-term financial difficulties and not for the permanent or long-term feeding of pets.

No Empty Bowls helps 400+ animals every month in London & surrounding areas from going hungry.

We provide education, advocacy, and shelter for animals in need.

Humane Society London & Middlesex was established as a non-profit organization in 1899 and exists to improve the lives of animals in our community by providing temporary shelter and appropriate new families for surrendered animals.

Throughout the years, we have worked tirelessly to assist animals by providing them with a home until they can be adopted into a new family.  We rely primarily on individual and corporate donations in order to provide care for animals in our community.

Our mission is to lead London and Middlesex in building a humane and compassionate community for all animals.

THE STORY OF NO EMPTY BOWLS

No Empty Bowls was founded by Kevin and Wendy Gorman in 2013.

Having noticed a strong need for pet food support in their community, Wendy and Kevin knew they wanted to help pets and their people in order to keep pets at home and not go hungry because of owner hardship.  For 10 years, this incredible couple ran the No Empty Bowls program from their home and positively impacted the lives of hundreds of pets each and every month for 10 years!

Wendy and Kevin announced retirement from the No Empty Bowls program in February 2023.  They have both been instrumental in navigating the transition of this needed program to HSLM so that this important work could continue to help the animals in our community.  We are so thankful for all of the work they have done to make this program what it is and are committed to carry-on their legacy of the No Empty Bowls program.
