#1: Where is Humane Society London & Middlesex located?

Humane Society London & Middlesex is located at 624 Clarke Rd, London, ON N5V 3K5. (Near the intersection of Oxford and Clarke , South East Corner)

#2: What are the Humane Society London & Middlesex hours of operation?

Adoption Hours: Mon – Fri: 1pm to 6pm & Sat – Sun: 1pm to 4:30pm

Admin Hours: Mon – Fri: 8:30am to 4:30pm

Please be advised that Humane Society London & Middlesex is closed to the public on statutory holidays.

#3: I'm unable to keep my pet. Can I surrender it to HSLM for re-homing?

Please note that an appointment must be made with one of our Adoption Counsellors at 519-451-0630 ext. 233 or ext. 232 before bringing any animal to the shelter.
Surrender fees vary based on the animal.

#4: Can you provide me with updates about my re-homed pet?

Once a pet is surrendered to HSLM, we are unable to provide any updates about them.

#5: What is the cost to adopt a pet at HSLM?

Cats and Kittens – $200*

Senior Cats (+10 years) – $100*

Dogs & Puppies – $400*

Senior Dogs (+10 years) – $200*

*Includes a $50 non-refundable administration fee

Rabbit – $50~

Guinea Pig – $25~

Hamster/Rat/Mouse – $25~

Budgie – $25~

Canary – $50*

Cockatiel – $75~

#6: What does the adoption process entail?

  1. Fall in love with your potential match
  2. Review their profile
  3. Fill out adoption application
  4. Go home with your newly adopted pet, the same day!

#7: What type of donations does HSLM accept?

HSLM will always accept donations of unopened pet food in the following brands: Royal Canin, Hill’s Science Diet and Purina One/Pro Plan. Other accepted donations change on a weekly basis. Visit our Wish List for more information: https://www.hslm.ca/help-us/wishlist/

Monetary donations are especially important to our organization as we rely solely on the support from individuals and corporations to help the animals. Donate online, here.

#8: When can I drop off donations to HSLM?

Donations from our Wish List can be dropped off to the shelter weekdays from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm and weekends from 1:00 – 4:30 pm.

#9: What do I do if I suspect abuse or neglect of a pet?

#10: I have lost my pet. Can you help me?

HSLM is unable to take in lost pets. It is recommended that you contact your local contracted animal services within your municipality.

#11: What do I do if I find a lost, stray or injured pet?

HSLM is unable to take in lost, stray or injured pets. It is recommended that you contact your local contracted animal services with your municipality.

#12: Does HSLM provide care and shelter to wildlife?

HSLM is unable to take in or provide care for wildlife. It is recommended that you contact your local contracted animal services with your municipality.

#13: I am looking for a specific breed of animal. Can you contact me when one becomes available for adoption?

HSLM is unable to contact interested adopters if/when the type of animal you’re interested in adopting, becomes available. We encourage all potential adopters to view our website for a complete listing of adoptable pets and/or visit the shelter in person and we would be happy to introduce you to all of our wonderful pet pals.

#14: Where do the animals at HSLM come from?

There are two ways in which animals come into the care of HSLM:

1. Surrender by previous owners when they are no longer able to care for them.

2. Removal from a neglectful or abusive situation by HSLM Animal Protection Officers.

#15: My neighbour’s dog is barking and I want to make a complaint. How do I do this?

It is recommended that you contact your local contracted animal services with your municipality.

#16: What Veterinary Clinic does HSLM recommend?

HSLM is unable to provide recommendations as to where you should take your pet(s) for Veterinary care.

#17: Does HSLM provide medical care to owned pets?

HSLM is unable to provide any type of medical care to owned pets.
If your newly adopted HSLM pet animal becomes sick or exhibits behavioural problems within the first fourteen (14) days following adoption, and you are not prepared to take responsibility for associated costs, you may return the animal to us for a refund of the adoption fee.
