The Value of One, The Power of Many

Humane Society London and Middlesex are incredibly grateful for all of our volunteers. We recognize National Volunteer Week, to celebrate their dedication and love towards our organization! Each of our 300+ volunteers brings a unique and special character to our mission of leading London & Middlesex in building a humane and compassionate community for all animals.

“The theme of National Volunteer Week 2021 is the value of one, the power of many. This reflects that when we as individuals come together to collectively make a difference, the ripples of that action can have a substantial impact. We see this firsthand at HSLM thanks to our wonderful volunteers,” Kirsten Overdulve, Coordinator of Events & Volunteering.

Over this past year, we have navigated our way through the COVID-19 regulations as an essential service, our volunteer support has never wavered. They have been consistently “at the ready” to assist with the needs of the animals and day-to-day operations.

Volunteering at HSLM comes in many forms; from socializing cats & small animals, dog walking, and cleaning/maintenance to contributing their time outside of the shelter by sewing pet gift items, shipping online orders, and assisting at events. Each volunteer and their role is instrumental to the success of our organization!

We at HSLM are incredibly proud to be a part of such a strong, kind, and inclusive community that shares our passion for animal welfare and demonstrates their commitment by donating their time to improve the lives of the shelter pets.
