Franklin and Maeby were found wandering about; alone, hurt, and scared. Unfortunately, there is no way of telling how long they were alone, where they came from, and how hard their journey had been thus far. However, considering the state they were in, we can assume that they did not have an easy life.
Upon their arrival, both pups were exhausted, and in clear need of rest, medical attention, and love. Maeby had matted fur, open wounds, burns, and was covered in ticks. Franklin, also covered in ticks, had infections in both eyes, leaving him unable to see.
Our staff and volunteers concluded that, for however long Maeby and Franklin were wondering, they had each other for companionship.
Both Franklin and Maeby were fortunate enough to have gone into foster care just days after their surrender. There, they were allowed to rest, heal, and be loved. During their time in foster care, Maeby and Franklin learned to trust again and began to show their true personalities each day.
We are proud to say that both Maeby and Franklin have been adopted by their new loving families.
