Gone but not forgotten

Shared comfort in the animal community as people paid tribute in the name of their beloved pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Over $15,000 raised for shelter pets in the recent Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day appeal.

“Our daughter turns 12 tomorrow, August 29th, and this will be her first celebration without Louie. For Emma’s birthday we are paying it forward for other animals in hopes of helping them get a home. We love you Louie.”

It was a few days of memories and tributes, warming the hearts of many animal lovers, and in return helping to support the increasing costs of animal care at Humane Society London & Middlesex. Over 150 people participated in the three-day digital campaign, which included a generous match donation of $5,000 from our friends at Memorial Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is a national day established to remember the pet companions we’ve lost. We thank our community for joining with us and together paying tribute and providing hope to animals in care at HSLM.

“Miss Murphy was my best friend and the light of my life. She was always by my side – we went everywhere together and I am broken without her. 12 years was nowhere near enough and I miss her every day.”
“Murmur – She was a beautiful, gentle cat who met me at the door when I got home and brightened my every day.”
“Fidget and Snowflake – Our pet rats. The were the sweetest!”
