Ivey MBA Social Impact Day

Ivey Business School MBA students took time out of their busy schedules to give back to the local community for their annual MBA Social Impact Day on August 9.

The team at Humane Society London & Middlesex designed a volunteer opportunity that combined hands-on tasks along with a thought-provoking discussion period.  During the discussion portion, HSLM’s Capital Campaign Director, Lindsay McDermott, and Executive Director, Steve Ryall, shared the organization’s capital campaign plans and received feedback and creative insight from the 18 MBA students.

“We recognize that reaching our goal of raising $10M to construct our new home will only be realized by a combined effort of the entire community. Having the Ivey MBA students on-site offered new ideas and fresh perspectives. It was truly a valuable experience for us,” says Steve Ryall, HSLM Executive Director.

HSLM’s transformation to meet the increasing needs for both animals and community members was an area of key interest to the students. With an education center and animal companion hospital being core components of the new plans, the new 37,000 sq ft facility will allow HSLM to provide enhanced offerings and benefits to the city and surrounding municipalities. All members of the community are encouraged to support the construction of HSLM’s new home by making a gift online or connecting directly with Lindsay McDermott via email: lmcdermott@hslm.ca or phone: 519-451-0630 ext. 1414
