News Release: HSLM Attempting to Set a Guinness World Record

LONDON, ON, May 14, 2019 — Humane Society London & Middlesex (HSLM) invites dog owners and their pups to attend the 35th Annual Bark in the Park Festival presented by Virtue Realty on Sunday, June 9, 2019 for a record-breaking attempt.

The festival held at the Plunkett Estate will feature a Guinness World Record title attempt for the largest gathering of dogs wearing bandanas. Previous attempts were made by Calgary Humane Society in 2016 and by a group in South Africa in 2017, however neither successfully gained the official Guinness World Record title.

HSLM expects to have over 850 dogs participate in this attempt, along with their owners.

Dog bandanas can be pre-purchased for $20 at any of the 11 London Pet Valu locations for admission into the event. One bandana provides admission for an entire vehicle; additional bandanas will be distributed to attendees who bring more than one dog to the event.

Date: Sunday, June 9th, 2019

Time: 11:00 am – Noon

Location: The Plunkett Estate (9282 Elviage Drive, London, ON N6K 4N5)
